Nelson shares about his leadership experiences and the people who modeled good leadership for him. Rev. Phiri Nelson is a great leader and his track record dates from as back as his family roots where he comes from as a first born. He has been so hardworking until the time he received the Lord’s call into Pastoral ministry in which during his training in Theological school, he served as the student union president. He is such a unifier, he serves with integrity despite challenges on the way. Upon completion of his theological studies, he was ordained on 10 December 2023 and subsequently posted to the Reformed Church in Zambia Mpika Congregation in Mbala Presbytery. This is where I serve as well, when he came, I preached on his induction service on 17 December 2023. He is now serving as the Presbytery Vice Moderator and Visiting Minister for Chipola and Chinsali Congregations in addition to his role as the Resident Minister at RCZ Mpika Congregation. His leadership is so reliable that when he is not there, impact is felt. He is a minister who serves with integrity especially bearing in mind that he serves in a region which is the most challenging with full of hardships in the context of our church. Our Presbytery is the poorest of all the 19 that are there countrywide, and in addition to that, our Presbytery where Rev. Phiri serves sits far away from the national capital city, Lusaka. The far you are from the capital city, the more the rural you are in the context of Zambia. Despite all these challenging realities, Rev. Phiri Nelson has continued to serve with integrity and without complaints. We are glad for his commitment to the work of God and his response to serving humanity despite challenging environments. May God forever bless him. I remain, Rev. Mhone Victor Jr. Presbytery Moderator
